We are all here for a pop of color and lately I have been so drawn to navy. You can go boho, nautical, modern, or eclectic with this color and have so much fun adding some color.
I wanted to share today all the different directions you can take with decorating using navy blue in your living room! From minimal decor pieces, to accent walls, and even accent furniture this color is so versatile.
Navy Living Room Accents
There are so many ways you can use navy in a living room. I wanted to take all the inspiration I found and put it together here for you, and then link some of my favorite products so you can shop the looks! I do receive a small commission through some of the Amazon links.
There are so many ways to bring a color into your space! I love using accent furniture, but also little touches like the art, pillows, or rug are so chic! Those little accents are great because you can switch the color out easily and keep your base furniture the same. Come the holidays the blue becomes red and you are ready for Christmas!

Starting with a massive piece of furniture to accent a color is a great place to begin. I mean look at this beautiful velvet sofa. I am obsessed with the wood legs and it looks so cozy.
If you aren’t ready to switch your whole couch, another great option to accent with some seating is these perfect book nook chairs from west elm. Put a pair of them in your sun room, office, or living room. So cute!
This chest is fantastic, it is small enough that it can be used in many places and for a variety of things, but but enough to be actually helpful. Store your curios, books, or wine in this statement piece! Pair it with some navy art above, a navy accented rug below, and navy throw pillows and blankets and your living room will look beautifully blue without being overpowering!
If you have a massive house, paint can be a big commitment. However, take just a smaller wall and make an accent wall. Paint your fireplace brick. Paint is really easy to change and isn’t as big of a commitment! Make a statement with this navy blue from Sherwin Williams. Color: Commodore from Sherwin Williams
Throw pillows are the perfect way to add some accent colors without the major commitment or hit to the budget. I love switching out throw pillows and blankets often because it changes the entire look of the space. you can changes cases at each season or holiday, and these cases are affordable on Amazon. Plus there are hundreds of options that give you the variety for every season! All you need is plain pillows and a variety of cases you can switch out.
I am obsessed with plaid. It is so farmhouse chic and this blanket is freaking adorable. I wouldn’t pair it with the pillows above because it might be pattern overload, but a soft cream pillow would be perfect with this!
Right now is the perfect time to support small businesses and I discovered this shop and I’m in love. I am a huge book lover, I mean I have an entire Instagram dedicated to posting about books and book reviews so decorating with books is right up in my wheelhouse. You might already have a few books that would make great decor, and if you need a few more in a certain color you can get them on Etsy! You can still keep your shelves as is, but these navy books make a great site table or mantle decor.
Poufs! OMG! I am obsessed with poufs. They are great for extra flexible seating, and footrests! Plus they are a great place to make a subtle color statement!
I need this rug. Like asap. I don’t know where I would put it but I need it! This whole room setup is actually gorgeous and a great way to drop hints of blue! I would switch the throw blanket out to have some navy and add a navy piece of art to tie it all together!
I wanted to include some art pieces that are smaller pops of color and easier to add. I am super into the boho look right now and this is such a cool way to incorporate some color. This is in my Amazon cart right now!
I wanted to spotlight some artists and small businesses because it is a perfect way to get UNIQUE and ORIGINAL art that supports the artist and adds to your color scheme. This set of 3 is so dreamy and calming, I am obsessed.
Modern art is super in right now, and this whole photo is a great example of how you can make a STATEMENT navy and still maintain that boho style. Using modern art, lots of patterns, natural textures, and plants keeps it modern and keeping that navy and cream/wood scheme pulls it all together. I love it! You can find art like this on Etsy that is affordable and comes in every color for whatever accent color you choose!
I need it. That was the first thing I thought when I saw these prints. The pink and navy is such a beautiful combo and this art is just freaking amazing. It would go wonderfully in boho or modern homes with navy. Plus, it doesn’t break the bank!
I found a few little decor pieces I really liked that can bring in more hints of navy like this cute jar. You could leave it empty, or turn it into a plant or flower holder. It would go great on a mantle or on a bar cart. I love the rustic aspects for any modern farmhouse too.
This tray is so perfect for setting on a coffee table or foot rest to hold TV remotes, a candle, or even as a serving tray for movie nights. It is easy to wipe clean and looks so nice and modern.
